1. Stone County Courthouse Marker
Inscription. Designed by architect Xavier Kramer, and constructed by Standard Construction Co. in 1917, this multi-storied Neo-Classical building contains a large courtroom and offices for county officials. A cultural as well as legal center, the courthouse was the site of celebration on November 11, 1918, when World War I ended. The first radio program in Stone County history was broadcast to the crowd gathered on the lawn on October 24, 1922. The county celebrated its centennial on May 14, 2016.
