Inscription.

Stockholms gymnasium flyttade in 1821, därav namnet Östra gymnasiehuset.Aren 1888-1907 fanns Wallinska flickskolan här.

Byggnaden förvaltas av Statens fastighetsverk.

was part of the Grey Bridge Monastery to the west, forming part of its boundaries, with the monastery walls remnants running ten meters towards the school gate. Within there is a star vault, thought to have been decorated by Albertus Pictor, as well as a monastic-style cellar.

In the 1640s, the national equerry Gustav Adam Baner was the owner. Probably it was he who had half of the building demolished and had a street put between the church and the old monastic buildings. Banner raised the building one floor and gave it a beautiful façade, redecorating even the preserved stucco ceilings. It was then called Banérska Palace.

In the 1730s Fredrik I installed his mistress Hedvig Taube in this small palace. The king himself lived with his queen Ulrika Eleonora in the nearby Wrangelska Palace / Royal Building.

The house later became the residence of the parish priest of the Riddarholmen church that existed from 1758 to 1807. The Stockholm High School moved here in 1821, hence the name "Östra Högskolan" (Eastern High School). Around 1888-1907 the Wallinska girls school was located here.

The building is managed by the State Property Agency.
