1. Cedar Tree Marker

Inscription. The lone cedar tree, located east of here, was planted by Leander Neri Bulter at the birth of his daughter, Eva, in 1894. This cedar is one of the earliest trees planted in the area. Leander Neri Butler was the son of Leander Butler. Leander Butler was one of the five Butler brothers who were early settlers of the area. Leander sold 20 acres of his property to the Deseret News Company in 1881, and the original paper mill was built on his property.
