Lewisburg in Union County, Pennsylvania — The American Northeast (Mid-Atlantic)
St. Anthony Street Bridge
One of the earliest metal-truss bridges in the area was built on this site in 1889. It was a single-span pin-connected Pratt through truss erected by the Champion Bridge Company of Wilmington, Ohio, one of the nation's oldest such firms. The 150.5 foot long metal truss was replaced in 1986. Several earlier bridges had been built on this site prior to 1889. Although the date of the first one is unknown, there is a record for repairs, dated 1794, for a bridge at this location.
Erected by Pennsylvania Department of Transportation.
