Inscription. The old three-story brick City Hotel that served the city from 1852-1907 was replaced by the new St. Charles Savings Bank Building in 1908. The bank incorporated in 1867 and continues today as the First State Bank.
 
Erected 2010 by Historic Downtown Association.
