Museum Building
Den massive bygningskrop og store centralhal skyides hehovet for at opnå så meget udstillingsplads som muligt. Museumshallens primære opgave var at fungere som lysskakt, der skulle skaffe dagslys til udstillingerne.

Built in 1871 by the architect Christian Hansen (1803-83). Until 1965, the function of the building was to house the University's zoological museum. Then it was used for some time for teaching purposes. The building was restored in 1982-83 by the Royal Inspector of Listed State Buildings, Nils Koppel (b. 1914), and has been used since then by the University's central administration.
The massive body of the building and the large central hall were the result of the need for as much exhibition space as possible. The museum hall primarily functioned as a light well to capture daylight to illuminate the exhibitions.
