The three great altars and the tombstones were found built Anthony Hedley at Vindolanda in the early nineteenth century, and they are now in Chesters Museum.

Translation:
Sacred to the Genius of the Commanding Officer’s residence, Pituanins Secundus, prefect of the Fourth Cohort of Gauls (set this up).
RIB 1686
Translation:
To Jupiter, Best and Greatest and the other immortal gods, and to the Genius of the Commanding Officer’s residence, Quintus Petronius Urbicus, son of Quintus, of the Fabian voting tribe, prefect of the Fourth Cohort of Gauls ……, from Brixia in Italy, fulfilled his vow on behalf of himself and his family.

Translation:
To Jupiter, Best and Greatest, and to the Genius and Guardian Gods of the Fourth Cohort of Gauls, Marcus Caecilius, son of Marcus, of the Quinna voting tribe, Celer, prefect (dedicated this). (Note: this is a possible interpretation of a badly weathered text.)
