Palace Užižić, earlier known as the Hektorović Palace incorrectly, was built about 1463 in floral Gothic style, at the place of the early Gothic house from the end of the 14th cent., which is preserved within the present palace. It was built above the southern city wall, with a facade richly ornamented with single and triple lancet windows. The palace did not block the passage through the street in accordance with the Duke's demand. Members of the old noble family Užižić served as municipal officials performing various official duties. The palace remained unfinished for more than 500 years.
