Inscription.  Samuel Wilson, whose name inspired national symbol “Uncle Sam” lived nearby from 1817-1822
 
Erected by Kiwanis Club of Catskill.
 
Location. 42° 13.023′ N, 73° 52.07′ W. Marker is in Catskill, New York, in Greene County. Marker is on West Bridge Street, on the left when traveling west. Marker is near western end of the bridge.
