1. Post Office Marker
Inscription. This post office was originally located next to Rudy Shields Insurance Agency, more recently known as the State Farm Insurance Agency. It was located in the center of Burke and was a vital part of the community. With the support of Fairfax County and specifically Supervisor Pat Herrity, Chairman Sharon Bulova, and Commission Chairman Pete Murphy, in 2017, the post office was moved to Sunrise at Silas Burke House to honor its history.
