Inscription. Here in 1830, in the house of Colonel John Eigleberger, the Evangelical Lutheran Synod of South Carolina and Adjacent States opened a seminary which grew into the Lutheran Theological Southern Seminary now located in Columbia, S.C.

Erected 1955 by Southern Lutheran Seminary Auxiliary. (Marker Number 36-1.)
