1. John W. Murphy Building Marker
Inscription. The John W. Murphy Building (1910-11) was designed by Samuel H. Brubaker & Company, also the architects of the Century Building (1901) at 36 S. Pennsylvania Street. Originally occupied by several small wholesale and manufacturing firms, the Murphy Building was the first modern fireproof building in the Wholesale District and is one of the earliest reinforced concrete buildings in Indianapolis.
