1. Historic Igo Inn Marker
Inscription. Historical dates conflict on the exact date of construction, but most agree it was built between 1883 and 1885. Records indicate the Clinton Lodge of the Free and Accepted Masons #119 held their first meeting in the in the new building in June of 1885. By joint agreement the Independent Order of Odd Fellows welcomed Lodge #209 moved into the building with the Masons in 1887. A single story dance hall at the rear of the building was added in the 1920's which featured one of the few "spring" floors left in the county. The two groups shared the hall until 1936 when the Masonic membership transferred to the Shasta lodge and the building became property of the IOOF. IOOF continued to use the building until membership declined and they could not afford upkeep, it was eventually deemed unsafe for public use. The building was sold in 1987 and with community support it was remodeled in the early 1990's. The venerable old, once abandoned building, has new life and faces the future as a proud testimonial to strength and endurance of the pioneer spirit.
