Sedona Historical Society
Historic Sedona
The Society organized in 1982. It began meeting informally with programs of old-timers relating local history. In the early 1990s they initiated the first survey of historic properties both in Sedona and in nearby areas. They then pursued the possibility of a Museum and when the City of Sedona purchased the Jordan farmstead, they worked cooperatively to develop the site. The park is now called the Jordan Historical Park, and is listed on the National Register of Historic Places. The Society opened the Sedona Heritage Museum in the Jordan farmstead structures and now operates the museum 7 days/week. Besides exhibits, it offers educational programs to local
schools and within the community.Erected by Sedona Historical Society.
