Fountain of the Immigrants
From 1892 to 1954, over 12 million immigrants entered the United States from various European countries. Thousands of those immigrants found their way to our region to work local mines, factories and fields. They brought their languages, customs, traditions, and cuisines. The immigrants assimilated into a new culture and wove the rich ethnic tapestry that we enjoy. We have listed some of their names, along with dates of immigration, towns and countries of origin. We love them, we miss them and we honor their memory. We can never hope to repay the debt we owe them, but they shall never be forgotten.
