Beginning about 1970, on this location in the basement of the Phyllis Wheatley Center, Nick Strange taught and mentored young men in not only the sport of weightlifting, but also life. Nick was a great teacher and role model to the youth throughout the Greenville community. Nick's remarkable and positive impact and enduring influence continues to live on in the hearts of the young men who were part of Nick's Gym.
