Ilion Great War Memorial
This tablet records the devotion of the sons of Ilion who gave their service to their country in the Great World War.
In the hour of need they made the supreme gift of themselves going to meet toil, privation, suffering and death with steady courage.
Those who fell and those who returned have given this and future generations of Ilion youth the example of noble achievement and of willing sacrifice.
To their memory the residents this village through its Board of Light Commissioners dedicate this Memorial Park on this the thirtieth day of May in the year of our Lord Nineteen hundred and twenty six.
Erected 1926 by Ilion Board of Light Commissioners.
