Hungry Hill Monument
1779 - 1943
So called because of privations suffered by men of 2nd New York and 5th New Jersey Regiments of the Continental Line who encamped here while changing a wilderness trail into a military road to pave the way for Sullivan's Expedition against the Iroquois. An Unknown Soldier of the Revolution lies buried here.
