1928 The Great Years
In 1927, the manufacture of plaster ceased in Chéticamp and the gypsum was shipped in bulk to factories in Portsmouth, New Hampshire and New York. In 1928, a large complex was constructed on this site. It included an immense storage facility across the road on La Butte a Severin, a building to house the crusher and another for the huge generator needed to power the entire complex.
