Location. 43° 7.326′ N, 94° 40.765′ W. Marker is in Emmetsburg, Iowa, in Palo Alto County. Marker can be reached from N Country Club. The marker is located on a large granite stone in the park straight north of the cul-de-sac in the small Kearny State Park campground. More about this marker. I believe the marker was moved from the Pioneer Walnut Log Cabin park in 1996. That park is located on the southern tip of Palo Alto Lake. All other information pointed me there as an original location.
