Dave Nilsson. The Australian-born catcher spent the duration of his eight-year career with the Brewers. A versatile player, Nilsson also played first base, outfield and designated hitter. Recognized as a 1999 All-Star, becoming the first Australian-born player to appear in the Midsummer Classic. Hit .309 with 21 home runs and .954 OPS during his All-Star season. Three years prior, in 1996, finished sixth in the A.L. with a career-best .331 batting average. Ended career with a .284 AVG, .356 OBP and .461 SLG. Became the first Brewer to hit two home runs in the same inning when he accomplished the feat in the sixth inning on May 17, 1996 against the Minnesota Twins. Inducted into the Sport Australia Hall of Fame in 2008.
