Ben Harris, unwashed & profane was known as "the greatest liar in the Sierra." He frequented Lemon Cove and the Mineral King back country and became part of the folklore.
His mule was the smartest, his dog the meanest, his gun the shootingest and his eye the keenest for nigh on 75 years. He should be remembered when tall tales brighten the campfire.
Erected 1976 by Dr. Samuel Gregg George Chapter 1855 E Clampus Vitus.
