Once a paper warehouse and printing facility for The Washington Post, 200 I Street also served as a "tech hotel" before it was ultimately repurposed as a Class A office space that houses four DC Government agencies. The renovation and repurposing of 200 I Street won a Washington Business Journal "Best Real Estate Deal of the Year" in 2010.

The building's renovation was a unique public-private partnership between the DC Government and the developer Stonebridge Carras. It houses over 1,200 employees and a first floor art gallery curated by one of the DC agencies in residence — The DC Commission on the Arts and Humanities.
