Inscription.  
Unmittelbar nach Beginn der national sozialistischen Herrschaftam am 30. Januar 1933 wurden die Stadtischen Bühnen Frankfurt zur Zielscheibe des politischen, vorallem des antisemitischen Terrors. Zahlreiche Mitarbeiter und Mitarbeiterinnen wurden entlassen, das kulturelle Leben der Stadt erlitt einen unersetzbaren Verlust. Im Laufe der folgenden Jahre wuchs die Unterdrückung und endete für viele mit Deportation und Ermordung. Stellvertretend für alle Angehörigen der Städtischen Bühnen, die unter dem Unrechtsregime zu leiden hatten, sind hier die Namen derer genannt, die in Konzentrationslager ermordet wurden, durch Misshandlungen umkamen oder die unter den Bedingungen der Verfolgung den Freitod wählten.

Immediately after the start of the National Socialist rule on January 30th, 1933, the Municipal Theatre Company of Frankfurt became the target of political, and especially anti-Semitic, terror. Numerous employees were dismissed and the cultural life of the city suffered an irreplaceable loss. In the course of the following years the oppression grew and ended in deportation
