1. Roseville Junction Monument
Inscription. The Roseville Junction Monument derives its name from two sources of inspiration. First, it reflects the name of the town in the 1860's. Roseville was the intersection between local rail lines and was appropriately called "Junction.” Secondly, the name Junction announces the monument's location at the intersection of three significant streets in Downtown Roseville: Riverside Avenue, Douglas Boulevard, and Vernon Street.

The spherical shape of the central monument exhibits the direction of the streets as they intersect one another, with Riverside Avenue providing a north/south reference. Additionally, the monument's design recognizes Roseville's historical relation to the railroad. The laced trestle pattern presents a railroad bridge-like shape, the round wheel elements mimic engine and rail car truck assemblies, and the tower features represent conductor's lanterns.
