Built in 1893 to house two banking organizations, the Central Guarantee Trust & Safe Deposit Co. and the Merchants National Bank, this building served the community for 100 years, most recently as the Broad Street Offfce of the Pennsylvania National Bank. In 1993, to assure its preservation as a community resource and an architectural landmark, Pennsylvania National's Directors donated the century - old bank building to the Historic Harrisburg Association.
