JaMarcus Russell threw for 332 yards and a pair of touchdowns and the Tiger defense shut down Notre Dame's potent offensive attack in a 41-14 win over the Irish in the 2007 Allstate Sugar Bowl in New Orleans. In a game that featured two of the nation's top quarterbacks in Russell and Brady Quinn, it was the LSU quarterback who held the upperhand, outplaying his Notre Dame counterpart. Russell accounted for nearly 350 yards of offense and three LSU scores, including two in the first half as the Tigers built a 14-0 lead before eventually taking a 21-14 advantage at halftime. LSU controlled the second half, scoring on its first three possessions in the third quarter to stretch the margin to 34-14. LSU added another touchdown midway through the fourth quarter as the Tigers outgained the Irish, 577-291. LSU wrapped up the year with an 11-2 record.

Erected by LSU, Mr. & Mrs. Chad Meaux.
