Fernandina Beach in Nassau County, Florida — The American South (South Atlantic)
Post Office Lamp Posts
Cast iron lamp posts originally flanked the south and west entrances to the post office building. The lamp posts represent the first standardized type approved for Federal buildings. Removed in the early 1950s, only these two survived. They were restored and reinstalled in 1998 by the Amelia Island Fernandina Restoration Foundation.
