More about this marker. This was the first "Walk Through History" sidewalk plaque (of 30+) that was placed on Saint Francois Street. It was the creation of then-Florissant Mayor Robert G. Lowery, Sr. and then-City Clerk and President of Florissant Historic, Inc. Rosemary Davison. The program was continued by later mayors and several names have been added since. This marker was dedicated on August 23, 2008 by the two mentioned above, plus then-Florissant Councilman, Tom Schneider.
