Third President of the United States from 1801 to 1809; a principal American founding father & author of the Declaration of Independence; Father of the 1804 Louisiana Purchase that doubled the Nation's size bringing St. Ferdinand de Fleurissant into the USA & enabling Missouri to become a State with a capital named in his honor; He used his intellect & eloquence to advance democracy, republicanism & science.
