Inscription. This home was built with recycled materials from 1904 World's Fair buildings by the family of Charles Hamilton. Because it was on an unpaved road, it was the least expensive of three locations. The Ortmann family rented the home in 1935 and converted it to a residence and funeral home. The family purchased the property in 1938. The chapel was added in 1951.
