1. Mark 4 Fire Control Radar Director Antenna Marker
Inscription. This radar antenna was removed from the USS South Dakota BB-57 when she was sold for scrap in 1962. For many years it was on display at the Naval Historical Center in Washington, D.C.

Four of these units were originally installed on the South Dakota high on the Superstructure. They were designed to detect enemy aircraft & direct the fire from 5"/38 caliber guns on surface and air contacts.
