Inscription.
The King Charles Troupe, a group of young men and women originally from the South Bronx, New York, play an unbelievable game of high energy basketball on unicycles. In 1958, Jerry King founded the troupe with the support of his wife, Alma, as a community unicycle club that instilled the ideas of Christian principals, character building and discipline to give neighborhood youth an opportunity to become productive citizens. In 1968, the troupe made its debut as the first African American act in Ringling Brothers Barnum & Bailey Circus. In 1980, the troupe was featured in a magic show in Las Vegas starring Siegfried and Roy. In 1994, the troupe joined forces with Universoul Circus and later toured Europe. The troupe returned to the Greatest Show On Earth in 2012. Now on its 5th generation, the troupe has performed to over 100 million fans in a 50-year career.
