1. Allen Bloom Marker
Inscription.
Allen Bloom worked with Irvin Feld beginning in the 1950’s as his partner. During the birth of Rock and Roll prior to Feld’s ownership of Ringling Bros. Barnum and Bailey Circus, he was Vice President from 1967-95 responsible for marketing and sales. Bloom’s motto was “Circus for the Masses, Not the Classes.” During his tenure Bloom created a unique advertising and touring strategy that attracted millions of customers. He was a revered mentor and regarded as the “Godfather” of modern live event marketing. Today, leaders in venue and artist management, professional sports, live events, performing arts, exhibitions and higher education are a testament to his legacy. In 2006, the University of South Carolina honored Bloom as a pioneer in sports and entertainment.
