Inscription.

A circus musician and bandleader, he began a ten-year career as a Windjammer at 18, trouping with and conducting the bands of some of the finest circuses including Barnum & Bailey. A prolific composer of music for the circus, his works capture the thrill and excitement of the big top and are still used by the circus bands of today. On leaving the circus he conducted the Fort Dodge (Iowa) Municipal Band for 51 years.
