Regarding Robert B. Latham Home. Abraham Lincoln worked as a lawyer on the 8th Judicial Circuit in Lincoln from 1847- 1859. Lincoln, Illinois was the only town in the United States named after Abraham Lincoln prior to his presidency. Abe even christened the town with a watermelon on August 27th, 1853.
