Waterloo in Monroe County, Illinois — The American Midwest (Great Lakes)
Waterloo Fire Department Memorial Bell Plaza
By ring this bell, cast in 1894, early members of the Waterloo Volunteer Fire Company were called to action to assist their neighbors in times of emergency.
Since that time, the bell has graced every fire station the Waterloo Fire Department has occupied.
While no longer used to summon a brigade of men to aid the community, it is now dedicated as a memorial to all citizen firefighters of the Waterloo Fire Department… past, present, and future, and their selfless commitment to the people of Waterloo.
