1. 126 E State Street Marker

Inscription. Except during Prohibition, this building has been a saloon or tavern since it was built in the late 19th century. In 1920, it was purchased by Stephen and Emily "Ma" Rush as a soft drink parlor, later a confectionery and ice cream parlor. It was here that Emily's nephew, Ronald Reagan, future actor and 40th president of the United States, came to visit in his youth. The Rushes operated the business until Stephen's death in 1936. Emily died here in 1947.
