trackside platform, across the tracks from the historic North Billerica depot. Crossing the tracks is permitted with signals to indicate approaching trains. Parking for the station (and marker) can be accessed from either the Billerica Avenue or Ruggles Street entrances
 
Regarding Billerica & Bedford Rail Road. The Billerica and Bedford Rail Road was chartered in 1876. Construction began in May 1877, and the line was completed between North Billerica and Bedford Massachusetts in August 1877, a distance of 8.63 miles. The marker is at the northern terminus.
