1944-48 and 1960-64
* He was inducted into the Song Writers Hall of
Fame in 1971, the Country Music Hall of Fame
in 1972 and the Gospel Music Hall of Fame in 1994
* The Jimmie Davis Tabernacle was built by friends
in 1965 to honor him
* In 1990, Jimmie Davis donated the Tabernacle to
Jackson Parish under the management to the
Chamber's Tabernacle board
* An annual homecoming is held the 1st Sunday in October
