Church of the Immaculate Conception

Inscription.
Built in 1894, this church was originally called Grace Chapel and Hospital; it was intended to provide free pews for those less fortunate financially than the members of nearby Grace Church. The building is one of only two churches in the city inspired by the style of Francois I. The stone and brick structure is distinguished by a freestanding tower and steeply pitched gable roof. The building has served the Roman Catholic community since 1943.
