Criser led the University to record levels of achievement , including public and private support, research activities and external support for research, and national recognition as a graduate , research institution with membership. , An alumnus of Florida, Mr. Criser earned his Bachelor of Science in Business Administration in 1949 and Juris Doctor degree in 1951. As a student, he was named to the University’s Hall of Fame. He served as president of Florida Blue Key. After graduation he became one of the state’s most prominent attorneys, while also being involved in education, business, professional, and civic activities. , A member of the Board of Regents of the State University System in Florida from 1971 to 1981, President Criser was chairman four of the ten years he served. In that position, he worked with the state legislature to establish such programs as Quality Improvement, Eminent Scholars, and the Florida Academic Scholars. His honors include the Distinguished Alumnus Award from the University of Florida.
