Jim and Alexis Pugh Hall
University of Florida
Mr. and Mrs. Pugh are recognized as shinning examples of philanthropy and community development throughout Central Florida. Jim Pugh earned his bachelor’s degree in building construction from the University of Florida in 1963. He then founded Epoch Properties, Inc, a diversified private real estate company with many successes in developing landmark large-scale developments. He has contributed to many civic successes in Florida.
Alexis Pugh has served on the University of Florida Foundation Board, the Steering Council for UF Women and was a member of the Florida Tomorrow Campaign Leadership Gifts Council. Both Jim and Alexis served on the Steering Council for the Florida Tomorrow capital campaign.
Completed in early 2008, Pugh Hall is home to the Bob Graham Center for Public Service. In addition to housing the Graham Center, Pugh Hall houses the Samuel Proctor Oral History Program, which preserves accounts of Florida history, and the Department of Languages, Literatures, and Cultures, which teach the majority of the language and literature programs on campus and endorses the premise that to learn another language is to step into another world. These three programs provide a unique insight to our world and a place within it.
A modern addition to the University of Florida landscape. Pugh Hall combines technological advances in building and construction while honoring its esteemed historic surroundings.
