English:
The direct descendant of Pierre Quesnel said that Fomblanche, builder of the Ville-Marie with the Sir of Maisonneuve, Oscar Quesnel (1872-1943), was born in Saint-André-Avellin. At the time of his marriage, he moved to Ripon and bought the general store there.

His territorial influence expands to Montebello, which became the headquarters of his company. The goods would arrive from Montreal and Ottawa by boat and then after 1877, by train. It is therefore from Montebello that he was able to organize the distribution of goods into his stores in Chénéville, Saint-André-Avellin and Ripon. Up until the early sixties, you could find a warehouse about forty yards from the house. As for the store, it was located on the parking lot which is currently the "Belle Bédaine". The eldest son Rodrigue continued to run the business up until 1958, when the business R.O. Quesnel finally closed its doors. By 1915, Oscar Quesnel had built this house where his family could live in the modern comfort of the post-Victorian era.

1947, just after the death of Oscar, the house was sold to the “Presentation Brothers” who turned the home into a private college.

In 1994, the building was bought to become a hostel known by the name “L'Auberge Montebello”.

Montebello citizens have always remembered the house by the name of "Manoir Quesnel", maybe to rival seigneur Papineau's Mansion…
