Chénier hotel stood, an important hotel for Montebello's history; where the "Great Fire" of 1913 started. In fact, the fire started in the shed beside the hotel. Thirty homes were completely destroyed by the conflagration which fortunately caused no casualties.

Nelson Chénier did not re-build his hotel after the fire. A building that was erected on this lot provided the base for "Lady's Corner", a very well known shop by the elders of Montebello. The owners were Madame Boucher and her daughter Juliette. The shopkeepers were responding to all types of seamstress demands from across the region. Madame Boucher was also a hat-maker.

The owner of the building was Léonidas Desrosiers. He sold the house and land to the National Canadian Bank in 1971. In 1979, the National Canadian Bank and the Provincial Canadian Bank merged to form the National Bank.
