More about this marker. This marker is located at a junction where the Yreka Trail headed directly west onto the dirt road across from Hart Rd and continued west/northwest along a short section of dirt track road and eventually onto marker Y-17. Original trail swales can still be seen along this section (although on private property).
 
Regarding Yreka Trail - Splendid Roads. Trails West, Inc. sells a driving guidebook titled A Guide to the Yreka Trail which provides maps and additional history on the Yreka Trail as it passed through designated marker locations. Purchasing this guidebook prior to visiting the Yreka Trail markers is highly encouraged to gain a better experience of the history of this historic trail.

2. Yreka Trail - Splendid Roads Marker
View of marker looking west across Big Springs Road. The trail continued west along a section of road behind the gate and then meandered west/northwest to Marker Y-18. An original trail swale is visible across Big Springs Road, just north of the gate (on private property).
