1. Industrial High School Marker
Inscription. Built in 1917, Industrial was the first high school built for African Americans in Palm Beach County and South Florida. In 1950, after the construction of Roosevelt High School, Industrial became Palmview Elementary, with Ulysses B. Kingsley as principal. Three original structures of Industrial High still remain: the arch at the school entrance, the gym/auditorium (now the theatre), and the primary building.
