In honor of the Vineland heroes who lost their lives
in the World War ★ ★ ★ 1917 ★ ★ 1919
Established under the auspices of
The Diamond Social Club, the City Beautiful Committee
and the Park and Shade Tree Commission
and financed by popular subscription
approved and sanctioned by the City Commissioners
In memory of a free and liberty loving people
Their iron will won the victory. Their valor
has preserved the sacred rights of humanity,
and they made the Supreme Sacrifice that
all peoples might enjoy the peaceful pursuits
of life, liberty and happiness.
They answered the call gallantly
They fought and won the victory
Worthy sons of heroic sires
who won American Liberty.
Dedicated May 30, 1919.
