Chinaka Hodge
class of 2002, started writing and performing poems as an awkward, pimply, BHS freshman, and art-making saved her life. She is a playwright, poet and performer.
Phil Lesh
class of 1957, played the trumpet while
at Berkeley High and went on to play
bass for the Grateful Dead.
Joshua Redman
class of 1986, after four years of being part of the Berkeley High Jazz Ensemble, Redman moved on to become a world famous jazz musician and composer.
The Lonely Island
class of 1996, a comedic trio best known for their series of "digital shorts" aired on Saturday Night Live, the Lonely Island features three of the show's writers, Andy Samberg, Akiva Schaffer, and Jorma Taccone
