1. Old Post Office (Wikipedia). The Watertown Post Office was built in 1908 and served until 1976. From 1976 to 2009, it was known as Old Post Office Square, and housed several tenants. 3. Historic Watertown Guided Tour. The building is an excellent example of Beaux-Arts design. Note the balustraded parapet with the large eagle sculpture, curving swags in floral design, cornice and prominent keystones over large windows. Special care was taken in the W.P.A. project in 1933 to carefully match the limestone of the original structure when the addition was built on the east side of the building.
